Danish airport launches electric flights on domestic route
A Danish airport has started electric flights between Sønderborg and Copenhagen using a Beta Technologies aircraft. This flight supports Sønderborg’s Project Zero, aiming for climate neutrality by 2029. Experts believe electric flight will grow quickly once battery technology improves. The plane holds 5 people has a range of 622 km (about 370 miles) and did the 200kM journey between the two airports with ease.
Range Rover’s first EV looks the part, but with a few surprises
Range Rover will launch its first electric SUV later this year, combining luxury with a powerful electric powertrain. The vehicle offers about 300 miles of range, fast charging, and strong towing capacity, while keeping a familiar and elegant design. Early reviews praise its calm performance and spacious interior, with prices expected near £150,000.
Group B rally redux: electric Lancia HF arrives to take on Renault 5
Lancia has launched a new all-electric Ypsilon HF with 280 hp, reviving its iconic rally heritage. The car features sporty design, advanced AWD, and a 370 km (220m)range with fast charging. The new-age Renault 5 sold like hotcakes, and the sizzling R5 Turbo 3E sold out in minutes. So another electric rally-inspired car from Lancia would revive the mid-80’s Group B challenges when Renault ran the R5 Turbo and Lancia ran the Delta Integrale. Deliveries start later this year, priced around €35-40,000.
IONNA Expands EV Charging Network
IONNA, a group of top car makers, is working with Wawa to add many new electric vehicle chargers. The first new charging station will open next week in Daytona Beach, Florida. This partnership helps IONNA move closer to its goal of 30,000 charging bays by 2030. I’m trying to work out why IONNA - a company formed, ostensibly, by the same group that formed Ionity - have a different brand in the US?
Uber to deploy 20,000 Lucid Gravity robotaxis equipped with Nuro Driver, beginning next year
Uber, Lucid, and Nuro are teaming up to launch 20,000 Lucid Gravity robotaxis with Nuro's autonomous driving system starting in 2026. Uber will invest $300 million in Lucid and operate these robotaxis through its app in major cities worldwide. The first autonomous Lucid Gravity prototype is already being tested in Las Vegas.
